This course introduces qualitative and quantitative methods of research, analysis, presentation and estimation of results and analysis of quantitative data using applications for statistical analysis. Discussing the benefits and challenges from both directions and the possible strengths of using both. The subject is divided to two main encampments to illustrate each set of methods through practical and engaging examples from lab analysis and plot trials, to surveying, to interviewing, focus groups and participatory observation. This course tries to show what is inherent and specific to organic farming research, to illustrate each of methods through theoretical, practical, individual and group works.
Finally, it will help to reveal the current funding landscape in Armenia and apply the methods we learned to research proposal writing and reporting for the future.
